Crystal
Clear Water Supply Corporation, or Crystal Clear WSC as we
are commonly called, is a member owned, not for profit utility
established in 1964. We are proudly servicing areas of Hays,
Comal, and Guadalupe counties in Texas. We cover 165.2 sq.
miles of service area with allocations of 14.1, 14.8, and
136.3 sq. miles for Comal, Hays and Guadalupe counties respectively.
From the origins of rural water struggles to the recent planning
for urban sprawl, Crystal Clear WSC has always tried to provide
customers with the best water, service and professionalism
available in the Central Texas area. Our rates and safety
procedures are governed by State and Federal agencies and
have consistently met with approval. See
our Consumer Confidence Report.
Our
water supply comes from two sources: These two sources are
ground water (i.e. aquifers roughly 1/4 of a mile beneath
you) or surface water (i.e. the lakes, reservoirs, and larger
bodies of water around us). Our ground water comes from Crystal
Clear's seven (7) wells drilled into the Edwards
Aquifer. The Edwards Aquifer also services San Antonio
and other Rural Water Supply Corporations. This aquifer has
fluctuating levels and we are increasingly being cut back
by the State and depending more on surface supplies for our
water.
These
wells, and our surface water supplies, feed the storage tanks

Our
surface water comes from the Canyon
Regional Water Authority and the City of New Braunfels
through an agreement forged a few years ago. We have been
instructed to take less and less water from the Edwards Aquifer
and, in order to maintain the high level of service we provide,
have contracted to receive greater amounts and availability
of surface water. It is exactly this type of adjustment in
procurement that leads to higher rates and more need for conservation.
To
protect our customers against interruptions we have taken
the step of securing Emergency Interconnects with our neighboring
water supplies. We have connections with the City of New
Braunfels, Canyon Regional Water Authority and Springs
Hill WSC.
Hopefully,
we have provided an idea of how large our service area is.
If for some reason, we have missed an opportunity to answer
your questions or resolve any situations you may have incurred,
please e-mail us
by clicking here and dropping us a line. Our toll free
phone number is 800.659.1031 if you would like to speak to
us via the telephone.
Thank
you,
The
Board, Management and Staff of Crystal Clear WSC
