Mike Cox - Being a long time resident of Central Texas, Mike has watched the considerable growth in this area. There was a time when you knew where San Marcos stopped and New Braunfels started and the radio in the pickup would play several songs while traveling between the two. Many of the surrounding cities have become so burdensome with regulation that developers are moving outside the city limits so that we have 10 and 20 house subdivisions popping up everywhere. It is clear that our water resources must be effectively and efficiently managed to provide intelligent, sustainable, reasonable growth for our area that we can all be proud of.
After working his way through college and completing his two degrees in Alpine, TX at Sul Ross State University, he and his wife returned to Central Texas where he grew up. He has several post graduate hours at Texas State University in their Masters of Business Administration program. For the past 20 years he has worked in the insurance industry, starting with the Texas Farm Bureau. Currently he works for a large insurer managing their personal and commercial litigation in the state. Many prominent attorneys seek out his advice on many matters.
He has two children, one in high school and one in junior high. He also owns a small commercial cattle and hay operation north of Zorn, where he lives. He is active in his church in San Marcos as well as the newest member on the Board for Crystal Clear.
He is prepared to help lead Crystal Clear Water into the next century with sound business practices as well as an understanding eye toward customer service for all members to make certain we all have sustainable, superior water quality at the most economically reasonable rates possible.
Qualifications: He meets all the qualifications identified in the Crystal Clear Water Bylaws. He has over 20 years experience in business, both as an employee and owner of a small business.
